Worship FAQ
We’re passionate about praising God, thanking God, hearing God’s word, sharing in God’s holy meal, singing and praying together. And we find our worship enriched by different styles and a variety of voices.
When are the worship services?
8:30am (Traditional Worship) & 11:00am (Contemporary Worship)
How long will worship last?
You can expect Sunday worship to last around an hour.
What should I wear?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and able to enter into a spirit of worship. People wear jeans, khakis, shorts, or dresses, and no one looks out of place.
What kind of music and atmosphere should I expect?
At both our services, you can expect a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
At our traditional service, the music is a blend of old and contemporary hymns and follows a classic “liturgical” pattern. That is, the rhythm of worship will follow a pattern very familiar to traditional Catholics, Lutherans, and Episcopalians.
At our contemporary worship service, music is led by our band. We aim for musical variety and to create space for everyone to participate in singing.
Our Sunday messages are Bible-based, engaging, and relevant for everyday living.
Will I be singled out or put on the spot as a first-time visitor?
You will never be called upon to stand up or draw any special attention to yourself.
We understand that, whenever people gather together, there’s a fine line between respecting each other’s space and getting lost in the crowd. And so, at Redeemer, we ask that each week everyone wear a name tag—members and guests alike. Knowing each other’s names helps reduce anxiety when engaging in conversation with one another and helps us build real community.
As a guest, am I expected to give money?
Not unless you want to. Though giving is a part of the worship experience, the primary financial support of Redeemer’s ministry is the responsibility of our members and regular attenders.
What about my kids?
At Redeemer, children of all ages are warmly welcomed in worship. We offer busy-bags for your little ones to pick up when they come into church. We realize, however, that sometimes kids get restless during worship, so we provide a staffed nursery so moms and dads can worship with fewer distractions. During the message time at our contemporary services, we invite kids to play in the gym under the supervision of our childcare attendants. When the message is over, the kids return in time to celebrate communion and the end of worship with their families.
